The Csokonai National Theatre is the stone theatre in Debrecen that still stands today, opened in October 1865 and took Csokonai's name in 1916.
Among others, Blaha Lujza and Hanna Honthy, Kálmán Latabár and Gyula Csortos also played in the theatre. Talents such as Imre Soós, László Mensáros, László Márkus, Zoltán Latinovits and Géza Hofi started their careers here.
