From late September to early November, those wishing to observe these birds \u2013 the symbol of Hortob\u00e1gy National Park \u2013 can choose from a range of programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>On four wheels in the wake of the cranes \u2013 twilight tours<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme starts at the Hortob\u00e1gy National Park Visitor Centre. After watching a short educational film and receiving a briefing, participants will travel in their own vehicles, accompanied by a guide, to the designated observation point, where they will wait together for the cranes to return at dusk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dates in 2026:<\/strong><br>26\u201327 September, 3\u20134 October, 11 October, 18 October, 23\u201331 October and 1 November.<br>The slots on 10 and 17 October are now full.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Meeting point:<\/strong> HNP Visitor Centre, Hortob\u00e1gy, 9 Pet\u0151fi Square.<br><strong>Entry fee:<\/strong><br>Adult: 3,500 Ft<br>Child (aged 3\u201318): 2,600 Ft<br>Family ticket (2 adults + 3 children): 11,000 Ft<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Advance registration and your own car are required for the programme. Participants will be informed of the exact start time by email the day before the tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Early-morning car accident<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the dawn walk, visitors can observe the cranes taking flight from their roosts. Participants travel to the site in their own cars and then walk for a short 5\u201310 minutes to reach the observation point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Meeting point:<\/strong> LIDL car park in Balmaz\u00fajv\u00e1ros, 15 minutes before departure<br><strong>Entry fee:<\/strong> 2,500 Ft per person, payable in cash<br><strong>Age rating:<\/strong> From the age of 10<br><strong>Number of staff:<\/strong> a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 30 people<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2026 dates <strong>to be announced in October<\/strong>, you can then apply online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Individual crane<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those who would like to observe the ravens on their own can try several different locations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Between Balmaz\u00fajv\u00e1ros and Tiszacsege, near the 3-kilometre marker<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the lookout point on the southern outskirts of Balmaz\u00fajv\u00e1ros, towards Hajd\u00faszoboszl\u00f3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>on the section of Main Road 33 between Sz\u00e1lkahalom and the L\u00e1t\u00f3k\u00e9pi fishing lake<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Between Nagyhegyes and Elep<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>on the Hortob\u00e1gy Fish Pond Nature Trail, at Lake Kond\u00e1s or at Lake V<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An admission ticket is required to visit the fish pond nature trail. The use of a pair of binoculars is recommended for observing the wildlife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Important information<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The observation of cranes takes place in their natural habitat; therefore, their presence and numbers cannot be guaranteed. The use of flash photography and artificial light is prohibited on the tours, and it is important to behave quietly to ensure the birds remain undisturbed. Dogs and other pets are not permitted on guided tours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Layered clothing suitable for the weather, comfortable shoes and a pair of binoculars are recommended.
