Founded in 1902 as a local history museum, the Déri Museum preserves the cultural heritage of Debrecen and Hajdú-Bihar County, as well as the cultural history of the world. Frigyes Déri donated his very important collection to the museum in 1920, which has been enriched by many other significant donations over the decades. As a result, the Déri Museum has one of the most complex collections in the country, linking the most remote places on earth, both historically and geographically.
