Remnant of an urban rampart

The oldest built heritage of Hajdúszoboszló, the remaining part of the former city wall and the corner bastion, which is currently located on Kálvin Square next to the Reformed Church.

The settlement of Hajdúszoboszló was donated by István Bocskai, Prince of Transylvania, to the Hajdú Hajdú Hajdú princes led by Péter Fekete Halasi on 2 September 1606. Living in military order, the Hajdúks divide the town into tenths and form the two-tenths town structure typical of Hajdú towns, then surround the town with a Hajdú palisade and later with a wall. A part of it can still be seen today in the town square, next to the Reformed Church.
