On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Kossuth Prize-winning writer Magda Szabó, the Szabó Magda Memorial House was opened on 5 October 2017 in the former school of the writer, the Dóczy Gymnasium of the Reformed College of Debrecen.

The memorial house will feature period furniture, personal objects, photographs, quotations and TV interviews, and will commemorate the writer's person, work and legacy.
