The New Year's Eve chirping is an event based on a centuries-old tradition. We know that on 31 December 1559, our ancestors scared off the Turkish army threatening „Scoboslo” with the sound of clashing trumpets and the cracking of whips. To commemorate this momentous event and to celebrate the end of the New Year, the town square fills with people on the last night of the year. Every year, the event brings traditional programme elements and new attractions to ward off the „evil forces” and welcome the New Year. The evening also features a series of large-scale concerts.
