Buso Carnival to drive away winter in Hajdúszoboszló February 22, 2025 This year again, you can meet the busos at the “Buso Carnival to drive away winter in Hajdúszoboszló” event at the main entrance of the beach bath on February 22nd.
The farewell to winter has never been so unique and memorable in Hajdúszoboszló as it is this year. At the event called “Buso Carnival to drive away winter”, traditions and fun meet, where participants celebrate the passing of winter together.

4:00 PM INTERACTIVE CARNIVAL FUN Dress up as your favorite character! – Playful adventures for children 5:00 PM PROCESSION WITH THE BUSOS ON THE MÁTYÁS KIRÁLY PROMENADE Experience the spectacular procession of the busos, be part of the celebration of driving away winter! Departure at 5:00 PM from Hotel Silver, then return to Szent István Park.
5:30 PM ROUND DANCE AND KÓLÓ MUSIC WITH THE BUSOS Fantastic entertainment with fire lighting and ancient rhythms
7:00 PM BURNING OF THE SHROVE TUESDAY Traditional farewell to winter Bring your bells, join the carnival revelers and let’s chase away the winter together!

(HU) “Szoboszlói Nyár” 2025- Térségünk kincsei
(HU) A „Szoboszlói Nyár” 2025 nyáresti kulturális programjai várják a látogatókat.
Európa legnagyobb fürdővárosában pezsgő nyári hangulattal várjuk a Hajdúszoboszlón pihenni és szórakozni vágyó vendégeket és a helyi lakosokat.
A Szent István parkban július hónapban több alkalommal szórakoztatják a helyieket és ide látogató vendégeket civil és művészeti csoportok.
Minden hétköznap 19:00-20:30 között helyi és térségi fellépők szórakoztatják a közönséget zenés, táncos, látványos produkciókkal. A Szoboszlói Nyár kulturális programjai garantáltan felejthetetlen élményeket nyújtanak a látogatóknak.
Idén a rendezvénysorozat tematikus hetekre épül. A nyitóhéten a táncos produkciók kerülnek középpontba. Látványos táncbemutatók, különféle műfajok a hagyományostól a modernig. Read more

Tour de Hongrie
Tour de Hongrie bicycle race once again in Hajdúszoboszló.
Let us cheer together in the spa resort for the teams and cyclists.
On the 12th of May comes the second run.
The capital of Nagykunság, Karcag will be the place of start. From here the cyclists will set for the North, crossing the Lake Tisza, riding all through Tiszaújváros, and then after turning to south-east will head to the finishing line in Hajdúszoboszló.
On the 192 kilometres long , completely plain course competitors can gather points and bonus seconds in three sections.

Cracking the whips on New Year’s Eve
The New Year whip cracking (the so-called “csergetés”) has a three hundred year tradition. As far as we know our ancestors on December 31, 1559 frightened off the Turkish army threatening Szoboszló with cow bells and whip cracking. Supplemented with new attractions each year an army of horse wranglers on the last evening of each year drive away the “evil powers” and we say farewell to the old year with high calibre concerts and fireworks.
