Climate

Hajdúszoboszló is located in East Hungary, in the Eastern part of the Great Plain, at a distance of 200 km from Budapest and only 20 km from Debrecen.

More specifically it is located in the area of the region of Hajdúhát, Hortobágy and Nagy-Sárrét, Berettyó. The landscape of the city is primarily determined by the fact that it is a flatland accompanies by smaller and larger earth heaps, loess and sludgy areas, with wavy elevations.

Warm and Dry Climate

Due to the Great Plain character of the landscape, the city is characterised by warm and dry climate both in the summer and in the winter months. In the summer season the number of sunshine days is especially high, which is favourable for the city from tourist aspect. There is little precipitation in Hajdúszoboszló, however, the air is always moving. It is very rare when there isn’t any wind blowing. These favourable climatic properties did also contribute to the evolvement of this curing venue.
