The water tower

One of the most beautiful buildings of the Debrecen Nagyerdő was built in 1912 according to the plans of master builders Fried and Adorján. Since the 1960s, the 42-metre high Water Tower has served as a safety water base for the clinics of the University of Debrecen, and it has continued to do so uninterrupted even after its reconstruction. The building contains approximately 1000 cubic metres of water. Thanks to the complex renovation, not only the building has been renewed, but the Water Tower has also been given new spaces and new functions, making it one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in Debrecen and a popular meeting place for both tourists and locals.
