The oldest monuments in Hajdúszoboszló are the remains of the local Reformed church and the adjacent town wall.
Together, the buildings are symbolic symbols of the city. The Reformed Church was built in the Baroque style in the early 1700s. It was enlarged in 1818, using neoclassical elements.
The church building was completely renovated in 2000. The building contains several relics from the past, such as the Moses chair from 1816 and the pulpit tablecloth from 1937, on which the coat of arms of the town is embroidered. In addition to the services, the church is also the venue for concerts and choir evenings.
A hajdúszoboszlóThe Reformed Church of St. John the Baptist welcomes bathing guests to the city. One of the church's unique initiatives is the large map of Hungary, on which, after the services, each brother and sister from far away marks his hometown with a small pin. The greatness of the congregation and the faith is also symbolised by the many pins on this map. The church is open to the public during opening hours, and by appointment outside these hours.
