
One of the best-known classics of Hungarian comedy literature, Hyppolit the lackey, is coming to Hajdúszoboszló in a musical stage version performed by the Mandala Song Theatre.
The story focuses on Mátyás Schneider, whose haulage business suddenly becomes successful and his family quickly becomes rich. Mrs Schneider adapts to her new life by taking in a lackey, but the arrival of Hyppolit turns the simple family's daily life upside down. Aristocratic manners, the need to conform to social status, the pressure to conform and the complications of love are presented with a great deal of humour and twists.
The play is a stage version of the legendary film by Gyula Kabos, with catchy melodies by Mihály Eisemann. The performance István Mikó Jászai Mari Award-winning, Merited Artist, who can also be seen in the role of Mátyás Schneider. Hyppolit Gábor Bódis and other roles include Szabó Anikó, Cserjési Beatrix, Bacskai Zsolt, Kovács Attila, Germán Lívis, Vajnárovics Viktória, Nagy Fruzsina, Molnár Ágnes, Bánhidi Péter, Gavola Bálint and the company's artists take to the stage.
The performance offers a light, musical theatre experience for all those who love classic Hungarian comedies, humorous situations and timeless stories.
