
Tradition and values meet at the Hajdúszoboszló Folk Weekend!
A quality craft fair and the best of folk music and dance await you in St Stephen's Park and on the open-air stage.
The aim of Folk Weekend is to raise awareness of Hungarian folk traditions and the folk music and folk dances of the Carpathian Basin amongst as wide an audience as possible.
We have exciting activities for the whole family.
Detailed Programme:
FRIDAY (17 July)
18:50 – Opening ceremony
19:00 – Kökényes Folk Dance Ensemble and Ildikó Bárdosi – featuring the Bakator Band
8.30 pm – Dance evening with the Szoboszló Folk Dance Ensemble – featuring Zsiga Gyönyörű and the Bakator Band
22:30 – Góbé Band
SATURDAY (18 July)
17:30 – „Hand in Hand with Our Brothers and Sisters" – the folk song group of the Sárrétudvari Foundation
18:00 – Magurák Folklore Ensemble
19:00 – Révi Mosut folk dance group
7.30 pm – Interview with the folk artists
21:00 – Csík Band
23:00 – Aranyhúr Band
SUNDAY (19 July)
17:30 – A puppet show entitled ‘László the Knight is Looking for a Bride’
18:30 – Performance by the ‘Csipkebogyó’ nursery group of the Szoboszló Folk Dance Ensemble
7.00 pm – Kuckó Artists’ Retreat: Sára, the Beautiful – a one-act folk comedy by Lajos Zilahy
8.00 pm – CSIMI Handa-Banda: folk music for strings
Regular programmes: Folk Playground and Craftsmen’s Street
And that’s just the start! Over the course of the three days, the programme will feature folk dance performances, folk singing groups, zither music and puppet shows.
In keeping with tradition, Craftsmen’s Street will open again this year, where traditional crafts come to life. Visitors can also look forward to a traditional playground and mouth-watering culinary specialities!
