St László Roman Catholic Church

The Catholic Church of Hajdúszoboszló, the Roman Catholic Church of St. László, was built in Baroque style in 1776.

The frescoes decorating the interior of the Roman Catholic church are the work of the ecclesiastical artist István Takács, painted in the 1930s. The work combines ecclesiastical themes with the life of the town, such as the finding of medicinal water and the proximity of the Hortobágy. The Catholic Church in Bocskai Street with these frescoes is one of the unique churches of Hajdúszoboszló. It is interesting that John Paul II, as Archbishop of Krakow, visited this church sanctuary.
