Hajdúszoboszló is located in East Hungary, in the East side of the Great Plain, 200 km from Budapest and 20 km from Debrecen.
More specifically it is located in the area of the region of Hajdúhát, Hortobágy and Nagy-Sárrét-Berettyó. The landscape of the city is essentially a flatland, which is decorated with earth heaps, loess and sludgy territories, the level of which is fluctuating. Due to the Great Plain character of the landscape, the city is characterised by warm and dry climate both in the summer and in the winter months. In the summer season the number of sunshine days is especially high, which is very favourable for the city from tourist aspect. There is little precipitation in Hajdúszoboszló, however the air is always moving. It is very rare when there isn’t any wind blowing. These favourable climatic properties also contributed to the evolvement of this curing venue.
